The Tin Shed New Zealand
Helping a rural brick and mortar retailer go global and grow online sales.
Background
The Tin Shed specialise in New Zealand made merino and natural fibre clothing. The shop opened in 1985 in a converted farm shed in rural South Canterbury, New Zealand. In 2003 the online store was launched.
Challenge
The client approached us in 2015. They had invested significant budget into SEO but had seen very little traffic and sales growth and there was a lack of transparency with the SEO provider. The business relied on tourist traffic, word of mouth and returning customers which was proving difficult to scale.
Solution
After conducting competitor and customer research we suggested Google Ads as a quick way to drive traffic and sales. Search, shopping and display remarketing campaigns were launched and optimised over several months. Australia was targeted as a key new market as it approached winter.
Outcome
After 12 months of advertising on Google The Tin Shed were able to increase year on year online sales by 154% with a return on adverting spend of over 400%. In the following year total revenue grew a further 120% at ROAS of over 420%.
We have continued to scale and optimise the Google campaigns while also working with the business on a website refresh, paid social media advertising, email marketing and SEO.
In May, 2020 we’ve had a record month for users and revenue through the website.
"Working with Ayu Digital has made a huge impact on our business. Online sales now far surpass in store sales and we’re seeing substantial growth each year. We truely value the advice and support we get from James and his team."
